About Us
Founded in 2004 at the French Institute of Phnom Penh by two professionals in the book industry, Olivier Jeandel and Jean-Paul Collet, 'Carnets d’Asie' swiftly inaugurated a second location in Thailand in November 2007 at the Alliance Française of Bangkok.
In Bangkok, Carnets d’Asie occupies 65 m² within the media library of the Alliance Française, located currently on the second floor of the establishment, offering 4,000 general titles: literature, specialized works on Southeast Asia, educational materials, French as a Foreign Language, comics, youth literature, and more.
Visitors can also find a carefully curated selection of quality second-hand books alongside new titles, as well as stationery and cultural items such as posters, silkscreen prints, games, and puzzles. In addition, Carnets d’Asie regularly organizes author meetings, conferences, and sales events.

The bookstore provides an efficient service for ordering books from France thanks to weekly shipments from Paris: your books arrive quickly at unbeatable prices in baht!
Notebooks of Asia has established itself as an essential meeting place for all those who share a passion for books and culture in Southeast Asia.
For Olivier Jeandel and his assistants Atikarn and Pisit, each visit and each exchange is a success, reinforcing the importance of their bookstore in maintaining and spreading Francophone culture in Thailand.
